Pennsylvania Association of Credit Management has always been active in the forming and servicing of Industry Credit Groups and a sizable percentage of our member companies belong to a group. Our sponsored groups are organized on a local, regional, and national basis and their primary purpose is to assist the credit executive in making decisions with respect to the extension of credit based on current and accurate information.
Why should I join a PACM Industry Trade Group?
PACM offers industry specific group meetings. Joining a group is a great way to benefit beyond the traditional credit information process. It allows members to meet their peers and directly interact with those who also have contact and experience with many of the same customers. Plus it provides a forum to find solutions and to network.
Thomas P. McFadden, CCE, Director of Credit Operations, Distributor Service Inc.“I have been an active member of the PACM for over twenty years. My involvement extends to the Electrical Suppliers Group. I feel they are of great value in collecting information about our customers for utilization in decision making. Their services enables me to obtain “face to face” information and I have built strong relationships that have been valuable in the prosecution of my duties as a credit manager. Their service has been both essential and beneficial in our business operations.”
Stephen D. Thomas, Credit Manager, Scott ElectricI have been an active member of PACM for over twenty years. I am involved in both the Construction Group and Building Trades Group. PACM has provided me with valuable credit information enabling me to make better credit decisions and reduce losses. The group meetings provide the opportunity to exchange information on common customers along with discussions on procedures and credit management functions, while building relationships within the group. PACM provides valuable educational and training opportunities for you to succeed as a credit professional. I have found PACM to be very organized, professional and ready to share their credit knowledge. I recommend PACM to anyone in the credit profession.
Thomas Yontosh, Corporate Credit Manager, Lezzer Lumber
Credit groups have proven themselves to be a very effective management tool by providing:
- An opportunity to exchange information on past paying experience of common customers within a common industry.
- A means of verifying information, reports and other credit-determining facts which the credit executive can use to his/her own credit decisions.
- Opportunities to exchange the latest information on department procedures, equipment and other credit management functions.
- An opportunity to discuss the latest legal rulings pertaining to business credit management.
Group meetings are monitored by a qualified PACM staff representative and group by-laws are formulated in conjunction with PACM and federal guidelines. These protective measures are established in order to ensure strict compliance with antitrust laws as they apply to the extension of credit. Complying with the law affords protection to the individuals, their companies, the group and PACM
